We bring new life to Children. Investing in Community. a better South Africa

Our mission is to find the ‘gold’ in children, to release that gold with a culture of honor, striving for excellence and restoring foundations into a solid successful future. It is time for South Africa as the Rainbow Nation to enjoy the riches of our nation. Our youth is the key to a better tomorrow

Our Vision is to restore young adults/children (their families) to successfully overcome adverse circumstances they might find themselves in and re-introduce them into society as grounded, whole people who can be of value to those around them. The A.C.2.C team have a passion for people in need. We believe that with unconditional love, unconditional acceptance, motivation, equipping and empowering that no matter what the circumstances, environment or history of a person their life can be changed into a story of success.

OUR JOURNEY OF GROWTH

IMPACTING 75 000 IN 20YRS

During 2009 Tinka Labuschagne from Ekurhuleni North District (DEC) invited us to do a presentation on substance abuse at Norkem Park This presentation opened new doors and opportunities for us to make a difference in “hopeless lives”. Very soon we discovered/realized that our program was not substantial enough to meet with the challenges our teenager were facing with daily.

The Take Charge Program was a customized to identify learners at risk and to equip them to overcome their challenges. The ability to dream again was restored back into their lives bringing them hope for the future. From the Take Charge program we had to adjust the program so that certain learners could benefit from it. The learners with discipline and abuse (Substance, physical, emotional, mental) battles were targeted. Out of this need the Intervention Program was developed and paved the way for us. This enabled us to place them on the path of recovery

The outcome of the 2 programs complimented each other beautifully though certain individuals was still in need of a more specific and personal approach. These learners already conformed to a mind-set of rebellion against all forms of authority and already had adopted a careless attitude towards their own lives and that of the people around them. The D.E.K.S program saw the light in restoring the building blocks in their visions, academics and relationships toward self and authorities. This was indeed a tough journey filled with hardships, tears and smiles. A journey wherein we learned from our own mistakes and at the same time experienced joy sense of accomplishment and fulfilment as families were restored due to our Parent Workshops.

That was then….. In 2020 Department Education, Ekurhuleni North District, incorporated our Management Strategy & Educator Development Program. Finally the season for our teachers has arrived. Our dream is to see teachers restored and whole again. Motivated and empowered to stand firmly again in a place of “honour” Our Take Charge/SIAS Workshop is put together in such an unique way which enable us to reach the hearts of our teachers and successfully equip them for the challenges they are faced with daily. The program empower management through the developing strategy to overcome challenges in a school’s discipline structure, with assessing, training, equipping and implementing of Procedures and Policies

Dennis & Wilna Founders

AC2C Centre has been helping and assisting children, young adults and their families to successfully and sustainably overcome the adverse circumstances they might find themselves in. Our focus is to re-introduce them back into society and their communities as grounded, positive, whole people who can be an asset to those around them.

The founders have been accommodating children/young adults from the street into their home for the last 20 years only relying on sponsors and donations from their community. They formalized this by registering as a Non-Profit Organization (NPO 2009/014635/08) in August 2008 and as a Public Benefit Organization (PBO no 930032415), meaning any donation is tax exempt and companies can claim back for a portion from SARS.

AC2C has progressively grown over the last twenty years. We started in the year 2000 with 2 children/young adults in our residential dwelling and accommodated up to 30 people at a time over the years. Many broken lives, heart breaking stories, lost battles and disappointments at times brought discouragement, but also many victories. Dennis &

Wilna Dekenah have been happily married since 2000 with two sons. Ryan and Gilahn Dekenah. Dennis has a Doctorate in Ministerial Theology and Wilna a Masters Degree in Counselling.

we build up great teams

The A.C.2.C team consists of individuals who have a passion for broken people. We believe that with unconditional love, acceptance, motivation, equipment and empowerment that no matter what the circumstances, environment or history of a person their life can be changed into a success story.

The founders of A.C.2.C have lived with broken people for over 20 years, taking them off the streets and into their own home. Birthed from this restoration process the A.C.2.C Gap Program was established to train & equip a powerful team to assist as volunteers. Through this process many sad stories have turned into fairy tale endings of success.
